My Story

I’ve always had a passion for health, fitness and helping people stay active. After qualifying as a Fitness Coach and Personal Trainer, I planned to help people become stronger, healthier and more confident through exercise.

Everything changed when a family member was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
Like many families, I wanted to understand what could make a real difference. As I began researching Parkinson’s, one thing stood out time and time again – exercise. The evidence was clear that regular, targeted exercise can play a vital role in helping people manage symptoms, maintain independence and improve quality of life.

Inspiration

That discovery inspired me to learn as much as I could. I completed specialist training in Parkinson’s exercise, continued to study the latest research, and connected with local healthcare professionals, including the Parkinson’s nurse, as well as Parkinson’s support groups and organisations that shared the same goal of improving opportunities for people living with Parkinson’s.

I started my first Parkinson’s exercise class at the gym where I was working with support from family, with the aim of creating a welcoming, supportive place where people could exercise safely, challenge themselves and enjoy moving together.

Since then, those classes have continued to grow, but so has my knowledge. Every course I attend adds to my understanding, but one of my greatest teachers has been the incredible people I work with each week. Every individual brings different challenges, experiences and successes, and it’s a privilege to support them on their journey.

Today, my mission remains the same: to help people with Parkinson’s move better, feel stronger and live with greater confidence through exercise that is evidence-based, enjoyable and tailored to the individual.
I don’t believe exercise should be intimidating. My sessions are supportive, challenging and adapted to each individual. Whether your goal is walking more confidently, improving balance or simply keeping up with everyday life, we’ll work towards it together.

Becky stands out over other instructors because she knows Parkinson’s. As a result she knows what works to help PD sufferers. She understands what it does and how it affects us all as individuals. Her drive and passion is contagious and has helped create great groups. Can’t thank her enough. Being part of one of Becky’s groups is like having another weapon in the daily battles of Parkinson’s…thanks Becky!
